Get ready for a burst of summer fun with the ongoing return of big events in Vancouver, including the Gastown Grand Prix in mid July. Our streets and public spaces play an important part in making these events happen.

Events, festivals, and cultural celebrations have a significant and positive impact on our city. They bring vibrancy into our communities, help support our local economy, and play an integral role in enhancing the quality of life in Vancouver.

During this busy season, City staff work hard to balance special events and filming, while accommodating the necessary upgrades to our roads, sewers and water mains.

“Vancouver is great city to be in regardless of the season but summer brings something extra special as we get to participate in and enjoy so many fantastic and long-standing events,” says Mayor Ken Sim. “Whether it’s a big event or a small neighbourhood celebration, these events all play an important part in fostering vibrant, thriving communities across the city.”
