Police investigating serious crash east of Agassiz

A section of Lougheed Highway is closed Tuesday after a serious collision east of Agassiz.

The Agassiz RCMP says the highway is closed to traffic in both directions from Maria Lane to Lophet Road as it investigates a “serious motor vehicle collision.”

Corp. Dave Noon of the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service said the highway will remain closed for several hours early Tuesday morning.

As of midday Tuesday, the highway remains closed. Police say drivers in the area can expect significant delays.
