‘Hard for her to find her way home’: Woman with dementia missing in Vancouver

Vancouver police have issued a missing person alert for a 78-year-old woman.

Patricia Wright, who lives with dementia, was last seen just outside of Granville Island early Sunday morning.

She left her home near Lameys Mill Road and Granville Street sometime between 3:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

“Patricia has dementia which could make it hard for her to find her way home,” Const. Tania Visintin said.

“She typically gets around on foot and will walk for long distances.”

Wright is described as having a fair complexion, standing five-feet-nine-inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds. She has blue eyes and shoulder-length blond hair.

She was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt, pink sweatpants and multi-coloured running shoes.

Anyone who sees Wright is asked to call 911 and stay with her until first responders arrive.
