White Rock murder suspect in court Thursday

The man who was charged with second-degree murder in relation to a deadly stabbing in White Rock is set to face court Thursday.

Dimitri Nelson Hyacinth was charged with murder after the stabbing death of Kulwinder Singh Sohi. Sohi was found suffering from fatal stab wounds on April 23 along the White Rock Promenade.

Hyacinth was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault in connection to the first non-fatal stabbing that happened in the same area, just two days earlier.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jatinder Singh was sitting along the waterfront with his wife when a suspect allegedly came up and stabbed him in the back of the neck, inflicting serious injuries.

The two violent incidents in about as many days had the community raising concerns about safety along the White Rock waterfront.
