Father’s Day 2024: 8 special feasts and treats to get in Vancouver

Father’s Day is approaching quickly, and to make June 16 extra special, we’ve got a list of feasts and treats suitable for our dear old dads.

Treat dad to a home-cooked meal with either Aburi Market’s Father’s Day A5 Wagyu Steak Platter ($150), which includes three different cuts of its Father’s Day A5 Wagyu Yakiniku Package ($150), featuring four different A5 Iwate Wagyu yakiniku cuts, perfect for grilling.

Enjoy this exclusive Father’s Day Kaisen platter ($95) that includes fresh oysters, lobster tail, crab claws, and jumbo shrimp alongside a variety of sashimi (tuna belly, salmon, yellowtail, skipjack tuna) and two flavour-packed poke spoons.

Chef and owner Justin Cheung is excited to welcome Pete Ho from the highly anticipated yakitori restaurant, Sumbiyaki Arashi, in honour of Father’s Day. The dinner will feature a selection of beer poured on tap, along with a variety of delicious bites straight from the grill and the wok. The menu will also showcase a unique fried chicken sando and much more.

This much-loved BBQ spot will have a feature menu that includes two platter options like its Texas Trinity Platter ($28 per person), which comes with one pound of Barbacoa beef, a full rack of ribs, and 3/4lb of 4 am Brisket matched up with sides like smoked mac’n’cheese, Westcoast slaw, and cornbread. You can also enjoy “The Dad Burger” ($19), which is Rosie’s house-ground burger, smoked and seared, with Texas Burger sauce, pickles, and onions, topped off with a slab of 4 am brisket. 

Celebrate Father’s Day in style at Notch8’s “Dinner through the Decades” experience ($85 per person). This experience will take you on a journey through the past 85 years of food. Each course will showcase signature dishes that have graced the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s menus over the decades, offering a glimpse into the evolution of culinary trends and tastes.

Enjoy a three-course brunch ($89 per person) featuring a selection of delicious carvery such as oven-roasted lamb leg, prime rib, ham, and morning time favourites, paired with a glass of sparkling wine upon arrival and a handcrafted cocktail from Botanist Bar.

Be sure to show up hungry because ARC Executive Chef Adam Middleton is pulling out all the stops for dads with unlimited house-smoked beef ribs and other brunch small plates paired with complimentary coffee and tea ($65 per person).

Enjoy a Bourbon & BBQ Lunch ($69 per person, $30 per child) this Father’s Day. The lunch features a handcrafted BBQ tower complemented by a barrel-aged smoked bourbon old-fashioned cocktail. For younger guests in attendance, a special platter with a selection of kid-friendly favourites is available.
