Vancouver police say a stabbing in the Downtown Eastside Thursday afternoon has left a man with serious injuries.
The VPD says officers were flagged down by a person in the area of Columbia and Hastings streets just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The passerby told officers that two people had been fighting and that one of the men was stabbed during the altercation.
Officers found the victim, who was then taken to the hospital with stab wounds. The victim remains in serious condition, the VPD says.
One man has since been arrested, with a charge of aggravated assault being recommended.
The circumstances around what led up to the fight and stabbing are not clear.
