Vancouver police searching for missing senior with dementia

The Vancouver police department is asking the public to assist in finding 75-year-old Que Huong Thanh Phu Nguyen.

The elderly woman has dementia and went missing from the Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood on Saturday night.

Police said she left her home near Vanness Avenue and Boundary Road around 9 p.m.

Investigators have learned the woman boarded a SkyTrain at Waterfront Station just after 10 a.m. Sunday and got off at Metrotown in Burnaby around 10:40 a.m.

Her absence is out of character and her family is concerned for her well-being.

She is described as four-foot-eleven-inches tall, with a slim build and short grey hair. She was last seen on CCTV footage wearing a grey toque, a black jacket with a rose on the back, light-colour pants and grey sandals.

She was carrying a large black and white tote bag.

Police said she may be confused or disoriented and is not likely to ask for help.

Anyone with information about her is asked to call 911.
