IHIT called into Surrey after 2 men found dead at home

The Lower Mainland’s homicide team is on scene in Surrey after Mounties found two men dead Wednesday night.

The Surrey RCMP says officers were called to Newton to “conduct a check” on the residents of a home on 151 Street near 61 Avenue.

“Police attended to find the residence insecure, and located two deceased men inside,” Corp. James Mason said in a statement Thursday.

Mounties believe the two men knew each other and investigators are not currently looking for any other suspects.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has since been called in.

“There is no risk to the public and this is an isolated incident. Surrey RCMP will be supporting IHIT with their investigation into this matter.

Police are now urging anyone with information about the deaths to call IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448).
