Snowflake the chicken stolen from North Van home: RCMP

Mounties in North Vancouver are hoping the public can help them identify suspects who allegedly stole a pet chicken named Snowflake over the weekend.

The RCMP says the chicken’s owner reported the theft from the Upper Lonsdale neighbourhood on May 13. It’s reported Snowflake was taken the morning of May 11, per video footage of two suspects entering the coop in the early morning hours.

Const. Mansoor Sahak says the owners are “devastated by the theft.”

“This case parallels the theft of a beloved family dog, emphasizing the profound impact on the owners and the urgent need for resolution,” Sahak said in a release.

“Our hope is that someone out there knows the suspects or the whereabouts of Snowflake and will do the right thing and call police.”

CCTV footage of the coop shows several chickens inside at the time of the theft. It’s unclear why only one chicken was taken.
