These Celebrities Are Filming In Vancouver This Month & Here’s Where You Might See Them

Vancouver is often bustling with film and TV show productions and January is no different with many projects getting underway.

There are several TV shows filming in the B.C. city or in surrounding cities this month and that means a lot of celebrities will be on Canada’s West Coast.

From To All The Boys star Noah Centineo working on his latest project to This Is Us actor Justin Hartley filming his new show, there is plenty of talent to watch out for if you’re in Vancouver.

Here are the shows currently being filmed in and around Vancouver in January and where you might spot the stars linked to the productions.

The Recruit

On January 3, actor Noah Centineo shared he’s back on set filming Season 2 of the Netflix show The Recruit.

While Season 1 of the show was filmed in Montreal, the second season is currently filming in Vancouver.

The show, which premiered in 2022, follows CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks (played by Centineo) who gets mixed up in “dangerous international power politics,” as per the IMDb description.

Other stars of the show include Fivel Stewart and Laura Haddock.

Filming on the show began on January 4 and will continue until March 21.

The Good Doctor

The cast and crew of ABC’s medical dramaThe Good Doctorare back in Burnaby working on Season 7.

The drama follows autistic surgeon Dr. Shaun Murphy (played by Freddie Highmore) who works with a surgical team in a prestigious hospital in San Jose, Calfornia.

Along with Highmore, other stars linked to the show include Will Yun Lee, Richard Schiff, Hill Harper and Fiona Gubelmann.

The production is slated to finish filming in July.

Tracker 

This Is Us star Justin Hartley has been filming his new CBS showTracker in Langley since November 2023.

The Noel Diary actor has even been spotted in the area and fans have shared photos online.

Twitter user @chefbk11 shared a picture with the actor saying they were “shocked” to meet Hartley on set and called him “such a nice guy with all the time in the world.”

The new show follows Colter Shaw (played by Hartley) who travels the country in an RV as he helps police solve crimes and locate people who have gone missing.

Along with Hartley the show also stars Mary McDonnell, Lee Tergesen, Oscar Chark and Nicole Anthony.

Tracker will continue filming in the area until April 23 and will premiere after the Super Bowl on February 11.

Superman & Lois 

The cast and crew of the TV series Superman & Lois will be heading to Richmond shortly where filming of Season 4 will begin on January 11.

That means you may soon spot celebrities like Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Erik Valdez and Emmanuelle Chriqui in and around the B.C. city.

Superman & Lois follows the famous superhero (Superman) and journalist (Lois Lane) as they overcome the challenges of being working parents.

Filming on Season 4 will wrap in Richmond in late April.

So Help Me Todd 

Filming of the drama series So Help Me Todd is currently underway in Richmond.

The show follows attorney Margaret Wright (played by Marcia Gay Harden) who hires her son Todd (played by Skylar Astin) as her law firm’s in-house investigator.

Filming of the show will wrap up in Richmond on April 9.

Fire Country 

Season 2 of the CBS drama Fire Country is currently filming in Vancouver with stars like Max Thieriot, Stephanie Arcila, Billy Burke and Jordan Calloway linked to the show.

The TV show follows a young convict Bode Donovan (played by Thieriot) as he joins a firefighting program.

Filming got underway in mid-December 2023 and is scheduled to continue until early April.

Fire Country Season 2 will premiere on February 16.

Animal Control – Season 2

Filming of the second season of Animal Control is currently underway in Vancouver.

The American sitcom follows a group of animal control workers whose lives are complicated by other humans rather than the animals they are tasked to catch, according to IMDb.

The show stars Joel McHale, Vella Lovell, Michael Rowland and Ravi Patel.

People have been posting pictures of signs showing where filming was taking place. One tweet by @FilminginVan showed the crew was filming at Marine Drive and Manitoba in Vancouver in mid-December 2023.

Filming is slated to wrap up in late February.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit

Alert: Missing Persons Unit follows police officer Nikki Batista (played by Dania Ramirez) after she joins the Missing Person’s Unit with the Philadelphia Police Department.

The Fox show is currently filming its second season in Burnaby and will continue to do so until mid-July.

The show also stars Scott Caan, Ryan Broussard and Adeola Role.

The Irrational

The Irrational is a new show that follows world-renowned behavioural scientist Alec Mercer (played by Jesse L. Martin) who “lends his expertise” to various cases involving “governments, law enforcement and corporations with his unique and unexpected approach,” as per IMDb.

The show also stars Maahra Hill and Travina Springer.

The show is wrapping up filming its first season in Vancouver and the last day of production is slated for January 19.

While these are the TV shows currently filming in Vancouver, there are other programs and films that will be shooting in the city later this year.

Season 2 of The Last of Us starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay will also be coming to Vancouver in early 2024.

The first season of the drama series was filmed around Alberta and in 2023 it was announced that the production would be moving to B.C. for Season 2.

The Netflix show Virgin Riverstarring Alexandra Breckenridge has also been filmed in B.C. so hopefully that means Season 6 will be shot this year. The first five seasons show stunning views of Vancouver that you can visit for yourself.
