Vancouver is a multicultural city, so it should be no surprise that our city is home to lots of unique food trucks. Here’s where to try food from across Canada and around the world.
Where to Find Food Trucks in Vancouver
You can find food trucks all over the Vancouver area. The highest concentration of food trucks is downtown, particularly near Robson Square and the Vancouver Art Gallery. But you can also find food trucks in other neighbourhoods, at local breweries, at weekend farmer’s markets, and at special events.

Japadog
Japadog is one of Vancouver’s oldest food trucks. It has been serving up Japanese fusion hot dogs at the corner of Burrard and Smithe since 2005, but today they have several other locations too. Their innovative take on standard street meat comes with Japanese add-ons like teriyaki sauces, bonito flake, and fried cabbage. Order a hot dog, then stroll over to Robson Square to eat it while you peoplewatch.

Chickpea
The entire Mediterranean menu at Chickpea is vegan and most dishes are gluten-free. Their incredible hummus is their signature dish – it’s so good that they sell it in takeaway portions too. Their truck is usually parked on 4th Avenue near Yew Street, so it’s an easy walk down the hill to Kits Beach to enjoy the view while you eat.

Salty’s Lobster Shack
Salty’s Lobster Shack brings a taste of the East Coast to the West Coast. This food truck serves up traditional Halifax-style lobster roll sandwiches along with lobster mac n’ cheese and lobster bisque. Their truck is also tricked out to look just like an East Coast fishing shack! You can often find Salty’s parked outside of local craft breweries, so be sure to grab a pint to go with your lobster roll.

Disco Cheetah
It’s hard to pinpoint the cuisine at Disco Cheetah, but its safe to say they make Korean fusion food. They serve poke-style rice and salad bowls with Korean Fried Chicken (a.k.a. KFC) and both Western (ranch dressing) and Korean (chilli) sauce options. For vegans, they also offer a tofu and cauliflower option with Korean gochujang sauce. Find them most weekdays outside the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Arturo’s Mexico To Go
Head to Arturo’s Mexico To Go for some authentic Mexican food. Arturo makes fresh burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, and more every day. Don’t miss the house-made salsa fresca and guacamole. Arturo’s usual spot is on Cordova Street near Howe, so it’s easy to enjoy your food on the nearby Coal Harbour seawall.

Il Saltimbocca
Via Tevere Pizzeria Napoletana runs a great food truck called Il Saltimbocca. They serve Neopolitan-style saltimbocca sandwiches made with bread baked in a woodfired oven, then loaded with meat, cheese, and veggies, and roasted over the fire. You can usually find them in downtown Vancouver on Burrard Street a couple blocks north of Burrard Street Station.

The Praguery
Enjoy a fresh-baked Czech-style chimney cake filled with ice cream at The Praguery. They have all kinds of fun flavours from classic cinnamon to tropical mango coconut. They are usually parked in downtown Vancouver, but they also have a location at the base of the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish so you can enjoy a chimney cake and the spectacular view at the same time.
