Canadian lottery player $1 million richer, four split second prize

The recent Lotto 6/49 draw was lucky for several Canadian lottery players, who will soon take home big prizes.

In the draw on Wednesday, January 29, the Gold Ball prize was worth $26 million. Although no one won the jackpot, someone did match the White Ball prize winning number 16091145-01. As a result, someone in Canada will soon wake up to the news that they’re $1 million richer. The winning ticket was sold in BC on PlayNow.com.

The winning numbers for the Lotto 6/49 Classic Draw were 03, 07, 15, 20, 31, 39, and bonus 02. However, no one won the $5 million top prize. Four people matched five of the six winning numbers and the bonus number, splitting the second prize.

Each will soon receive a cheque for $33,298.70.

In all, 98 lottery players matched five of the six winning numbers, splitting the third prize. Each will receive $570.70.

The Classic Draw Extra winning numbers were 11, 12, 37, and 74, but no one in BC won the $500,000 prize. Similarly, in Ontario, no one matched the Encore number 1878186 to win the $1 million prize.

The next Lotto 6/49 Gold Ball prize is now worth $28 million. There are 21 balls left. The draw is set for Saturday, February 1.

It’s been a while since someone won the Lotto 6/49 jackpot.

One Canadian lottery player welcomed the new year as a multimillionaire after winning the $54 million Gold Ball prize during the December 28, 2024 draw. The winning number was 35353629-01, and the ticket was sold in Alberta.
