Vancouver Canucks fans won’t find tonight’s game on the usual television channel.
The Canucks face the St. Louis Blues tonight as they look for their first back-to-back wins since December 1. The game is one of four that is not carried by Sportsnet this year, instead, it’ll be shown on streaming service Amazon Prime.
Amazon purchased the rights to certain Monday night NHL matchups this season for the first time. An Amazon Prime membership, which starts at $9.99 per month, is required to watch Prime Monday Night Hockey.
Those who have memberships can log in to the live sports section. If not, you’ll need to register. Free trials are available for those just looking for a way to watch tonight’s game.
The Canucks have a 1-0-1 record during their Amazon games thus far, beating the San Jose Sharks back on December 23 before losing to the Montreal Canadiens in overtime on January 6. Vancouver has one more Amazon game scheduled for this season when they take on the New Jersey Devils on March 24.
Tonight’s Canucks game has an early start as puck drop is at 4:30 pm PT. It’s the first contest of a three-game road trip, which will also have stops in Nashville and Dallas before the Canucks fly back home.
The Calgary Flames currently lead the Canucks by three points for the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. Considering all the adversity the Canucks have faced this season, they’re still very much in the playoff hunt and a win tonight would bring them within a single point.
With fewer than half the games left in the regular season, we’re getting closer and closer to a playoff race. The Canucks have been far from their best but still have a shot and if they can string together a few victories, they’ll find themselves back in a postseason spot.
