If you’re looking for work and would love a job that gives you new environments to work in, some pretty well-paying travel jobs based in BC are available.
When we say travel jobs, they might be jobs with airlines, in the travel industry, or simply roles that allow or require you to move around locally for the gig.
These are some of those jobs that are among the highest-paying in BC.
If you enjoy being on a plane, Jazz Aviation is hiring flight attendants. The positions pay $34.80/flight hour. One of the perks includes travel privileges on the Air Canada Network for you and your family. You also get a daily expense allowance of up to $1,000 monthly.
Momenti Travel is looking for a full-time travel consultant. The pay starts at $28.50 hourly. The role is primarily customer service-based, and you’d help clients “plan their dream vacations.” The gig also includes overtime pay.
Rocky Mountaineer also has some jobs up for grabs, including a guest experience position from March to October. It pays $26 an hour and includes benefits like a health care spending account, friends and family discounts, and two annual complimentary passes (beginning your 2nd season). Rocky Mountaineer is also hiring someone for the guest experience concierge role, which is a little more hands-on and pays $25 an hour.
Inventa, a marketing and brand experience firm, is seeking tour presenters. The gigs pay up to $28 per hour and could send you to various communities around BC, like Lytton and Fort St. James. You would be required to speak to large groups and would need to be able to commit to a full-time five-week program. Aside from being able to travel, other perks include access to a company car and discounted or free food.
If you have a medical background, HELP Nursing Agency is filling a role for a travel nurse. The gig pays well, up to $62 an hour plus 4% vacation pay. Benefits include relocation assistance and overtime pay.
One travel role that doesn’t pay all that well is the customer service call centre role with Air Canada. The full-time job only pays minimum wage. Fortunately, the job listing states that Air Canada has one of the “most generous employee travel programs” in the industry. However, your travel privileges don’t begin until 28 weeks on the job.
