Cute kid delivers adorable message to Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes

Vancouver Canucks faithful are all eagerly awaiting a Quinn Hughes return to the lineup, perhaps none more so than a young fan by the name of Hannah.

During the first intermission of last night’s game versus the Nashville Predators, several kids hit the ice as part of the mini minor hockey game. Afterward, Hannah was interviewed by Canucks in-game host Kat Stefaniewicz.

After explaining that Hughes is her favourite player, she asked Stefaniewicz to deliver a message to the Canucks captain.

“Can you get a message to him for me?” Hannah asked. “Can you tell him that I said get better soon?”

Following the adorable get-well wish, Hannah was asked if she had any advice for the Canucks as they prepared to hit the ice for the second period.

“Skate hard,” she replied to a loud cheer from those in attendance at Rogers Arena.

Unfortunately, the Canucks weren’t able to pull out a win for Hannah, as they fell to the Predators by a 3-0 final. That said, it’s not all bad news for the young fan.

Despite missing the past four games with an undisclosed injury, Hughes is nearing a return. Both he and Elias Pettersson will travel with the Canucks on their upcoming five-game road trip, which will begin on Monday versus the Montreal Canadiens.

“They’re getting close,” head coach Rick Tocchet told reporters at morning skate prior to last night’s game. “Petey’s been skating and Quinn [has too] quite a bit. So we’ll see how that goes.”

The Canucks have missed Hughes tremendously, going just 1-2-1 in the four games he’s been out.

The reigning Norris Trophy winner is putting together an excellent season, having registered a team-high 42 points in just 34 games. He’s third amongst all NHL defencemen in points, trailing only Colorado Avalanche’s Cale Makar (48) and Columbus Blue Jackets’ Zach Werenski (43).

Hannah and the rest of the fan base will be hoping to see both Hughes and Pettersson back in the lineup on Monday night, as the Canucks are just one point up on the Calgary Flames for the final wild-card position in the Western Conference.
