BC Emergency Health Services says an avalanche has struck in the Whistler area Monday afternoon.
It’s not clear whether there have been any people injured or how many, but BC EHS says it’s aware of the incident and has dispatched ambulances to care for any patients who are extracted from the scene by search and rescue crews.
“We will provide further updates on our response when we’re able to,” said Paramedic Public Information Officer Brian Twaites.
1130 NewsRadio has reached out to the Sea to Sky RCMP, Whistler Search and Rescue, and Avalanche Canada for more information.
This is a developing story. More to come.
