Search for missing Langley woman taken over by homicide detectives

The search for a woman who vanished from a Lower Mainland hotel earlier this year has turned into a murder investigation.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team shared in an update Thursday that it has taken over from the RCMP in investigating 34-year-old Chantelle Moore’s disappearance.

Moore was reported missing after her family had not heard from her since late October.

Police say she was last seen leaving a hotel in Langley in November.

“What began as a missing person investigation has now been taken over by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) due to recent information suggesting Ms. Moore’s disappearance to be suspicious,” IHIT noted in its update.

“A lot of questions remain unanswered,” said Sgt. Freda Fong. “Chantelle’s family and loved ones deserve to know what happened to her and we will continue to work with Langley RCMP to advance this case.”

Anyone with information about Chantelle’s disappearance is being urged to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
