Vancouver Aquarium is hiring and one job pays up to $75 an hour

One of the most iconic attractions in the city is currently hiring for several full- and part-time positions, with several paying over minimum wage.

In fact, one of the open Vancouver Aquarium roles pays up to $75 an hour, and you’ll be helping its mission to conserve aquatic life through rescue, research, conservation, and education.

Guest Experience Associate (Contract, Full-time and Part-Time)

The Vancouver Aquarium is searching for guest experience associates to help ensure visitors have an inspiring time at the attraction. Responsibilities include working at admissions, answering questions and providing assistance at the guest services desk, and presenting the film at the 4D Theatre.

This position pays an hourly wage of $19 an hour.

The water must flow! The Aquarium is hiring a licensed plumber to install, maintain and repair plumbing and drainage systems at the Stanley Park destination. The selected applicant with three to five years of experience, a Red Seal Certificate and a Class B Ticket will also care for fixtures, gas and water piping, sewage systems and storm lines.

The salary range for a Licensed Plumber is $34 to $44 an hour.

The Zoological Technologist oversees the care and welfare of the animals in the Aquarium’s Amazon gallery, including scarlet ibises, Goeldi’s Monkey, sloths, Yacare Caimans, and more in the free-range gallery. The role is also charged with developing operations and procedures, implementing safety measures, and representing the Aquarium at conferences and with the media. Applicants must have completed a two to three-year college program in Biology (or related field) or have equivalent experience. A minimum of five years of hands-on husbandry experience and five years of supervisory experience is also a must.

This job pays a salary range of $55 to $75 an hour.

If you’re looking for a job that’s a little more snappy, then you should apply for the Photo Experience Sales Associate role at the Vancouver Aquarium. The part-time position captures the memories of visitors by taking and selling souvenir photos and customized items. The associate role is also described as an Aquarium ambassador when guests arrive and at stations throughout.

This job pays between $17 to $19 an hour.

The Aquarium is looking to hire a Veterinary Fellow who is interested in pursuing specialized training in aquatic animal medicine. The one-year position includes helping to provide care and medical management for the animals at the Vancouver Aquarium, overseeing the veterinary externship program by completing and assisting with research papers or case reports, and more.

The successful applicant will be paid a range between $28 and $38 per hour.
