Talk about luck: Canadian man nets his THIRD big lottery win

A Canadian man has some serious luck on his side, netting his third lottery win in his life and the second in the past year alone.

David Serkin of Lethbridge, Alberta, won half a million dollars on Lotto Max earlier this year, and now, he’s won a cool million on Lotto 6/49.

“It’s just unbelievable,” Serkin told the Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC) while claiming his prize. “It feels good—it always feels good!”

Serkin won $1 million in the November 16 Lotto 6/49 draw. He added that he buys tickets for every draw and always does a Quick Pick.

“I saw there had been a win in Alberta,” he said. “And this time, it was my ticket!”

Serkin told his wife and a few friends about his win, and they all responded with varying degrees of shock.

“They all asked how I’d managed to win!” he laughed. “They were ribbing me last time, and they’re ribbing me even more now!”

When Serkin won earlier this year, he revealed that he had also netted $250,000 about 12 years ago, making this Lotto 6/49 win his third windfall.

Serkin said he’s been enjoying helping family and friends with his previous win and now has a trip planned with his wife to Maui, where they spent their honeymoon.

“You’ve got to keep your wife happy, and I’ve been doing it for decades,” he added.

The two also plan to visit Newfoundland and Labrador and Yellowstone National Park in the US.

Serkin purchased his winning Lotto 6/49 ticket from Petro Canada, located at 1606 Mayor Magrath Drive S in Lethbridge. He won his prize by matching the Gold Ball draw selection on the November 16 draw: 30183765-20, a white ball.
