You’ve probably seen the city transform before your eyes into a Taylor Swift wonderland, and now Gastown is getting in on the fun.
A post on X from Gastown states, “The Gastown Steam Clock is in its Taylor era!”
That means that until December 13, the steam clock will play “Shake It Off” every fifteen minutes.
That’s a LOT of “Shake It Off.”
“Difficult times indeed for those that can’t stand her music,” someone said in response via Reddit.
“Fortunately the Venn diagram between steam clock appreciators and people that enjoy any music are two disconnected circles,” another user said.
In case you’re wondering how this works or sounds, here’s a video courtesy of Gastown:

“Back in my day, this was an April fools joke,” another Redditor replied.
Gastown isn’t the only Vancouver neighbourhood that has transformed for the artist. Yaletown is becoming Taylortown while Swift is in Vancouver.
Some folks have seemingly had enough of the Taylormania.
im getting so pissed that the city is devoting so many resources to this woman. WHY? Big acts come here all the time. I would love to never hear her name again

We’ve also heard from some who think it sounds nothing like “Shake It Off.”
What do you think? Have we gone too far? What do you think about this Swift-themed move by Gastown?
