Temperatures continue to drop in Vancouver as we near the winter season, so we’ve become curious about how much it would cost to hop on a flight to take us to a hotter place.
Here in Vancouver, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) reports that temperatures in the single digits are expected all week long.
Meanwhile, according to Weather Now (a site that records the world’s hottest places), in San Pedro, Paraguay, temperatures are four times hotter than Vancouver.
The forecast in San Pedro is facing severe heat, clocking in at about 37°C.
According to Google Flights, a last-minute trip to Paraguay for a week would cost at least $1,800. This long 24+ hour round-trip does include two stops as well.
However, if moving to extreme heat does not sound appealing, you can’t go wrong with a flight to Mexico.
If you want to head out for a week-long trip this weekend, you can find flights for under $600.
Direct round-trip flights to Puerto Vallarta cost around $397, and Mazatlan is $586.
In Puerto Vallarta, the forecast suggests sun throughout the weekend and into the week, as daytime temperatures are expected to be around 27°C.
Similar weather is expected in Mazatlan, but temperatures are slightly higher during the day, ranging around 29°C.
