Vancouver developer offers adventure worth $15K for buying a home

We’ve come a long way from the days when developers offered avocado toast in exchange for buying a home, as a Vancouver developer is now offering an adventure worth $15,000.

Gryphon Living currently has an exclusive holiday deal that would offer a homebuyer a seven-day luxury Caribbean cruise for two.

This isn’t the first time a developer has offered a luxurious incentive in exchange for a home purchase. Earlier this year, we told you about a developer that was offering a Porsche when buying a two or three-bedroom home in a Vancouver condo.

Some conditions apply to Gryphon’s offer, which it shared some details about with Daily Hive Urbanized.

Eligible homes for the promotion include the purchase of any unit at Gryphon Nova or Gryphon House with a 10% deposit. Purchasers will receive a $15,000 voucher for the cruise for two. The homes being offered range in price from $700,000 for one-bedroom units to $2 million for three-bedroom townhomes.

Gryphon Nova is located at 989 West 67th Avenue, while Gryphon House is in Kerrisdale. The developments are expected to be completed in 2025.

“In addition to the cruise incentive, we’re offering a variety of other perks designed to deliver a holistic and elevated condo-living experience,” a Gryphon spokesperson told Daily Hive Urbanized.

The incentive is available until New Year’s Eve this year.

“Begin your homeownership journey with an unforgettable vacation,” Gryphon’s promotional flyer states.

The Caribbean cruise would take place on the Icon of the Seas, the largest cruise ship in the world, with a capacity of just under 8,000 passengers. The ship happens to be sponsored by soccer superstar Lionel Messi. It’s also packed with luxurious amenities like the Aquadome, a diving and performance venue under a glass dome at the top of the ship. It also features The Pearl, a dynamic art installation. There’s even an ice skating rink.
