Canucks announce J.T. Miller taking indefinite leave

Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller is stepping away from the team indefinitely for personal reasons.

The team put out a statement today explaining the situation.

“Right now, our sole focus is making sure that J.T. knows the entire organization is here to support him,” said Canucks GM Patrik Allvin. “Out of respect to J.T., we will have no further comment at this time.”

The reason for Miller’s absence is not known at this time, but some reports have added context.

“JT Miller leave is about a player who needs a re-set. Needs time and space,” wrote CHEK’s Rick Dhaliwal.

The team’s post announcing the absence was flooded with positive comments from Canucks fans showing support for the star player.

Miller’s wife, Natalie, deactivated her popular Instagram account which is followed by many Canucks fans.

The fanbase showed an outpouring of support, wishing the best for J.T. and those around him.

The 31-year-old is a leader on the team and is beloved by the fanbase. His name is often chanted throughout Rogers Arena.

So far this season, Miller has 16 points in 17 games for the Canucks. He is coming off a career season where he scored 103 points in 81 games last year.
