A runway at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is closed after an Amazon Prime plane overran a landing early Tuesday morning.
YVR said in a statement the CargoJet flight, operating a PrimeAir aircraft, overran the eastern boundary of YVR’s north runway around 1:45 a.m. PT Tuesday.
It said the crew of three safely got out of the plane and no injuries were reported. YVR fire and rescue attended the scene.
The airport said operations will be affected as the north runway remains closed Tuesday morning.
“We encourage passengers to check with their airlines for current flight schedules and status,” the statement from YVR said.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada said on Tuesday morning that it is deploying a team of investigators to gather information and assess the incident.
