A 12-year-old girl is missing from the community of Fort Nelson in B.C.’s far north, RCMP say.
In a statement, the Northern Rockies police detachment says Tayla McLeod was last seen Monday, April 15, at around 8:30 p.m. local time.
She was seen walking along Airport Drive toward the Southridge Trailer Park in the remote community, which is located 130 kilometres south of the B.C.-Yukon border and more than 1,000 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.
Police say she was reported missing Tuesday.
She is described as an Indigenous girl, standing five feet tall, with brown hair.
