An aerial drone show, planned for Wednesday night as part of the Grey Cup festivities in Vancouver, has been rain-checked until Friday.
The Grey Cup Festival says the drone show, by Pixel Sky Animations, will instead take to the sky on Nov. 15 at 9:30 p.m., “due to potential weather impacts to drone safety.”
Environment and Climate Change Canada says a “vigorous” storm rolled over B.C.’s coast Tuesday night and rainfall is predicted to continue into Wednesday evening — and beyond.
The electric ‘Kickoff Party,’ featuring a performance by Vancouver-born DJ Felix Cartal, on Canada Place is still scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Pixel Sky Animations says its show will consist of 1,000 drones flying above the waterfront between the Vancouver Convention Centre and the Westin Bayshore Hotel.
Several other events are planned around Vancouver ahead of the 111th Grey Cup at BC Place on Nov. 17.
