Celebrity hot spot hotel in Vancouver named one of the best in Canada and US

A Vancouver hotel described as a place where “roaring ’20s glamour meets modern sophistication” has been named one of the 17 best places to stay in Canada and the US.

Fodor’s Travel included the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in its new list of the best hotels in Canada and the US. The downtown Vancouver hotel was one of two Canadian hotels on the list.

Fodor’s praised the hotel for its distinct onsite dining options like 1927 Lounge, “which offers meticulously crafted cocktails,” and Hawksworth, “one of Vancouver’s most celebrated fine dining establishments.”

“You’ll be hard-pressed to leave,” the Fodor’s article reads.

Apart from its stunning features, such as its 31-foot-long chandelier, mahogany bar, and marble floors that “evoke the opulence of the 1920s,” Fodor’s added that the hotel has even attracted some very well-known artists.

“Originally opened in 1927 as Hotel Georgia, this landmark has welcomed Hollywood legends like Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and Katharine Hepburn,” Fordor’s added. “Following extensive renovations in 2011 and 2024, the hotel remains a celebrity favorite.”

Just this year, hip-hop legend Missy Elliott kicked off her historical tour in Vancouver and was seen celebrating with the show’s special guests Ciara, Busta Rhymes, and Timbaland at Prophecy Bar, a cocktail lounge under Rosewood Hotel Georgia.

The second Canadian hotel mentioned in Fodor’s list was also in BC but is found on Vancouver Island.

Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, near Tofino, earned a spot on the list, as Fodor’s found it “brings guests to the sanctuary of British Columbia’s wilderness.”
