A Calgary home skipped the Halloween treats this year and instead chose to take a jab at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by offering trick-or-treaters a bowl of razors.
A photo of the display in front of the northwest Calgary home shows a bowl of blue disposable razors with a cardboard sign explaining the bizarre Halloween offerings.
“Sorry, we can’t afford apples because of Trudeau. So this year, just razors.”
Calgary Police confirmed to Daily Hive that it received a report about a home in Bowness that left the razors out in front of the house on Halloween.
However, police said there is “not enough evidence to indicate a criminal offence occurred.”
One mother told 660 News Calgary that her children stuck their hands into the bowl.
“You hear of stories… with pins or razors or whatever, but I’ve never come across something like that,” she said.
Users on Reddit had plenty to say about the display, with some calling it “unhinged” while others questioned whether real life had become a satirical publication.
“Stop giving these idiots more exposure,” the top comment said.
Medical_Water_7890 wrote, “Total f*cking losers. Regardless of your politics.”
“Wow, nothing screams ‘out of touch’ like handing out razors for Halloween — guess they’re hoping for a razor-sharp comeback on those candy prices,” another quipped.
A package of 12 blue disposable razors costs $1.98 at Walmart.
