Hatley Castle is a museum and gardens in Colwood, which is in the Greater Victoria area, that will truly transport you to the U.K.
Built in 1908 it’s ripe with history, serving as a dorm and mess hall for cadets with the Royal Roads Military Collage. It’s now an administrative centre for the Royal Roads University and houses a small museum with artifacts and exhibits.
The sprawling estate is a dream to wander around, with a beautiful garden that sets a fairytale-like scene.
Explore the stunning Rose Garden, the formal Italian Garden, or the serene Japanese garden here. The castle is so picture-perfect that it was actually used as the set for multiple movies, including the X-Men films and Deadpool.
