Nelson breaks 98-year temperature record

With spring well underway, one B.C. city took the warm weather to another level and broke a 98-year record over the weekend.

According to preliminary data from Environment Canada, Nelson hit 24°C on Sunday, breaking its previous record of 23°C set in 1926.

The eastern B.C. city was one of 10 in the province that broke temperature records on Sunday.

The other cities include Creston, Kamloops, Lytton, Osoyoos, Princeton, Sparwood, Summerland, Vernon, and Warfield.

In Metro Vancouver, the weather is forecast to be mainly sunny for the rest of the week, with a high of 16°C expected on Friday.
