Police investigating after car ends up upside down in Maple Ridge backyard

The Ridge Meadows RCMP says it is investigating a rollover accident in Maple Ridge that resulted in a car ending up upside down in someone’s backyard.

Police say they were called to a home on Mier Drive near 140B Avenue where they found the flipped-over vehicle, which they say appears to have damaged several other backyards.

“Fortunately, no one was injured in any of the residential backyards,” said Corp. Brett Urano, RCMP spokesperson.

“The driver of the vehicle did suffer minor injuries and was taken to hospital.”

Video posted to social media shows the car speeding past an embankment toward the backyard. The vehicle appears to have been momentarily airbourne before it crashed.

Investigators say alcohol was not a factor.

Anyone with any information, dash cam footage, or video in the area is asked to call the Ridge Meadows RCMP at 604-463-6251.
