1130 NewsRadio has received reports from callers about a large fire in the Oakridge neighbourhood Monday afternoon.
Vancouver Fire Rescue Services has confirmed it’s on scene dealing with a house fire near the intersection of Oak Street and 49 Avenue.
VFRS have not confirmed any injuries or cause of the fire at this point.
Callers to the newsroom say there is a lot of black smoke pluming in the area.
Reports suggest that traffic is backing up on Oak Street both northbound and southbound at 49 Avenue because of the fire.
