May 19 2022 –
Vancouver City Council met this week with some members joining electronically and others in-person, to hear and discuss a variety of topics during Council and Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities.
Tuesday, May 17
This week’s Council began with Mayor Kennedy Stewart reading the Komagata Maru Remembrance Day Proclamation. This was followed by approval of the following minutes, communication, reports, and referral reports on consent:
Council then approved the following reports:
Report Arbutus Greenway (zones 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8) – Establishment of city land for road and public space purposes PDF file (1.1 MB) was referred to a future Council meeting after Council has considered the Broadway Plan.
Council then approved the following referral reports:
Council approved by-laws 1 to 11 PDF file (37 MB), then the following Administrative Motions and Council Members’ Motions:
New business, Federation of Canadian Municipalities – Election to Sit as a Table Officer at Federation of Canadian Municipalities, was also approved.

Wednesday, May 18
The Standing Committee on Policy and Strategic Priorities approved the Provision of Wireline Services PDF file (49 KB) on consent. This was followed by staff presentations and speakers on the Broadway Plan PDF file (22 MB). The Standing Committee will reconvene on May 25, 2022, at 3pm to continue hearing from speakers.

A public hearing will convene on Thursday, May 19 at 6pm, for Council to consider the following agenda items:
