Surrey man faces multiple child exploitation-related charges

The Surrey RCMP says a man is facing charges after being arrested in relation to child exploitation-related offences.

In an update on a case Tuesday, Mounties say that in June of this year, they arrested a 41-year-old Surrey man after he allegedly failed to comply with his probation and prohibition order.

Since his arrest, he has been remanded in custody. However, police explain that on Sept. 12, he was charged with additional child exploitation offences.

The accused now also faces one count of sexual interference, one count of luring a child, and one count of possession of child pornography.

“The investigation into this incident remains ongoing,” said Corp. Sarbjit K. Sangha. “Surrey RCMP encourages citizens to be a voice for children who are victims of sexual exploitation by reporting any suspected offences to police or by reporting online sexual exploitation of children: www.cybertip.ca.”

Police say the accused remains in custody until his next court appearance.
