Despite rain, PNE Fair turnout was up in 2024

The PNE has wrapped up for another year and organizers say that despite five days of rain, the turnout was up compared to the last couple of years.

Almost 638,000 people attended the annual event this year between Aug. 17 and Sept. 2.

Organizers say more than 16,000 servings of cotton candy were sold, more than 34,000 people tried the new ThunderVolt, and 315,000 rings were tossed at the Ring Toss Game.

“The 2024 Fair saw significant changes throughout the Fairgrounds as ongoing construction on the new Freedom Mobile Arch resulted in a number of shows moving from their traditional location. The overall result was very well received as the team approached what could have been challenges as an opportunity to rethink our many indoor and outdoor venues and spaces,” PNE President and CEO Shelley Frost said.

Last year’s Fair brought just over 626,500 people, with 2022 bringing just under 530,000 attendees.
