More than 40,000 BC Hydro customers without power in Burnaby, Coquitlam

A transmission circuit failure has caused a massive power outage Monday along the Burnaby-Coquitlam border, BC Hydro says.

Around 40,000 Hydro customers were off the power grid just after 9:45 a.m. Some affected customers are also located in New Westminster and Port Moody.

BC Hydro says crews are currently on-site, however, there is no estimated time of reconnection.
