B.C. to give update on tree fruit grower supports

The same day the BC Tree Fruits Cooperative goes to court for creditor protection, the B.C. government is set to give an update on its work supporting fruit growers.

The industry has been struggling for years, but this year has been particularly challenging after a winter deep freeze decimated fruit blossoms.

Many peach, apricot, and cherry orchardists won’t have any crops at all this year.

Premier David Eby and Agriculture Minister Pam Alexis are expected to speak in Penticton around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
