A Port Coquitlam woman is dead and another is in hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 1 between Savona and Kamloops Sunday afternoon.
The Tk’emlups Rural RCMP says the two women were driving a pickup truck east between the two communities around 3 p.m. when they hit a highway ditch, overcorrected, and rolled the vehicle over into the westbound ditch.
Mounties say both occupants were trapped inside, and the local fire department had to help with extraction.
Police say the driver was taken to hospital with serious, and life-threatening injuries. The passenger died at the scene.
