Watch world champion Marco Arop of Canada go for gold in the men’s 800m final

Canadian Marco Arop is going for the gold medal in the men’s 800-metres final at 1:15 p.m. ET.

The reigning world champion from Edmonton has a strong chance to win Canada’s first-ever Olympic gold in the event and first medal in 60 years.

The Canadian women’s 4x400m relay team is competing in the event’s final at 3:14 p.m. ET. The team has placed fourth in each of the past two Olympics and World Athletics Championships.

Thomas Fafard of Repentigny, Que., is also attempting to make the podium when he takes part in the men’s 5,000m final at 1:50 p.m. ET.
