Three people were stabbed at a house party in Surrey just after midnight Friday.
The Surrey RCMP says it responded to reports of a stabbing at a house on Loughren Drive around 12:30 a.m.
When officers arrived, they located three victims who had “sustained serious injuries and were transported to hospital.”
Mounties tell 1130 NewsRadio that all three victims are recovering from their injuries, two have been released from hospital, and the RCMP is working to identify the suspects.
“I don’t know what the exact nature was, but it was a large party,” said Const. Parmbir Kahlon. “I would estimate somewhere close to 300 [attended].”
Kahlon could not disclose if any of the victims, the suspect, or the partygoers were minors.
“Altercations happen at parties. There’s people with different opinions and different mindsets present, and sometimes there’s alcohol and drugs involved. I’m not sure if that’s the case of this incident, but people have disagreements. Obviously, in this one, there was a weapon used, and the situation escalated. But we treat every incident, whether it’s a verbal dispute or a physical argument, with the same seriousness,” said Kahlon.
Police are still looking to identify a suspect. Anyone who witnessed anything is urged to contact the Surrey RCMP by calling 604-599-0502 and quoting file 2024-117069.
