Canada’s Alysha Newman is going for gold in the Olympic women’s pole vault final at 12:15 p.m. ET at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, north of Paris, on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old Delaware, Ont., native qualified seventh on Monday.
Canada is also competing for a medal when Jean-Simon Desgagnes takes part in the men’s 3000m steeplechase final at 3:43 p.m. ET.
