A busy downtown block in Prince George, B.C. has been closed as police investigate a “potential bomb threat” at the city courthouse.

RCMP say the courthouse has been evacuated and a large police presence is on site redirecting traffic and pedestrians.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper says the public is asked to stay away from the “high-risk investigation.”

The entire block surrounding the courthouse at 250 George St., as well as adjacent roads, have been closed.

Updates are expected throughout the day.
